Weekend in Waco

Weekend in Waco

I have had the typical touristy Waco experience before . . . the Silos, the food trucks, the “Magnolia Land” experience. . . and everyone knows about these attractions. What was so amazing about my trip to Waco this weekend was that I got to experience Waco with some of my amazing Instagram friends while we were shown hospitality from local food and home decorating experts who took us the best places to go in town, some just recently opened. I want to share just a few of the things that should be on your Waco bucket list.

Now I couldn’t start off without raving about the house in which we were hosted. A popular destination where we were fortunate to stay was at Gathering Oaks Retreat in the Gathering House. If you’ve heard the rumors, yes, this place is right across the street from Chip & Jojo. Did we get to see them? I wish (don’t worry, I looked for them every time we passed by)! The Gathering House was more than accommodating for myself and my other 10 friends that stayed together! It was like staying in a home straight from Fixer Upper!

One highlight no doubt was the restaurants that we had the pleasure to experience! We started with a fresh breakfast with Bucha (short for Kombucha, which is a tasty beverage alternative to sodas) at Harvest on 25th . This tasty meal kicked off our day filled with paper flower crafting at Linen & Cake, tasty (and beautiful) coffee from Dichotomy and hitting the hot shops around town!

While many a tourist comes for Magnolia Market , they also don’t leave before checking out The Findery , which is my absolute favorite! Not only do they have two levels of the cutest farmhouse decor, but they also have another warehouse down the street stuffed full of gorgeous furniture and unique antique finds. I pretty much stuff the car full every time I have the chance to visit.

We finished the day by having dinner at the BEST pizzeria called Moroso Pizzeria. I loved hearing that a local restaurant like this one has a unique story and family history that led to it’s opening. This is one place I will insist on dining at again during my next visit!

I was beyond blessed to get to meet all of the other bloggers and influencers on this trip. It was one house full of talented woman who all inspire me so much! I know we barely scratched the surface of things to do, but I would love to hear what amazing place you’ve discovered on your adventure in Waco!
